GREENS REPORT November 21

Although our holding dams are very low, this month we have received some much needed rain at the right times.

The rough areas throughout the course have kept the course staff busy mowing every day. The greens are in great condition and all areas have been sprayed with herbicide, and tees have had pre-emergent herbicide applied to prevent crow’s foot which is a big issue at this time of year.

The 18th green has had bare areas repaired; the back half of the green suffers badly from shade and has soil issues with holding too much moisture. With better growing conditions we should see a big improvement with the green over the next few weeks.

The 18th fairway has clearly been completed and looks great; this has been discussed, with works on the 9th fairway to take place next year from the results being successful.

All dam walls and hazard areas have been trimmed and new marker lines have been added to areas. All hazard pegs, and distance markers have been fixed and painted.

The shelter hut has been repaired with new posts and a new roof with a garden added to the front, and this will have some plants added before next month.

Fairways and green surrounds are currently being cut twice a week, with greens still being rolled three times a week. This is including the two rough mowers mowing everyday of the week. This

month we have started to apply a growth regulator to the greens and this has quickened the ball speed and firmness of the greens, not because of mower heights.

With the warmer days and the grass growing behind us there is not too much more to say. The course is looking great and with some potential rain this week. hopefully we can fill our holding dams up a little more.
