GREENS REPORT June 21

This month’s sunshine was perfect to see our four weeks of club championships be played without any delay due to rain.

This has been great for the course and especially our greens.

This month the greens were aerated with the air2g2 machine. We have used this machine once a year and this has been helping with the winter period where the greens struggle due to the severe shade issues.

Greens such as 15, 7, and 18 will be rested from mowing more than the other greens to protect the current surface as these greens suffer the worst from shade this time of year. There will be light topdressing of sand to these greens.

All trees throughout the course have been trimmed at the bases with an application of pre-emergent herbicide added. This was also done last year and the results have been great.

This month the club purchased a tray back Ute Mitsubishi Triton; this will be used for hand watering only. This Ute has replaced our old Triton that has been taken to the wreckers.

We are still seeing a large number of golfers, therefore our tees have been getting a lot of wear.

With rain forecast for the end of this week a granule fertiliser application will be done to help with the recovery.

The everglades has been cleaned up with rubbish stock-piled ready for burn off this month.

We have constructed a new path between 11 and 12, and this month pending weather this will be finished with concrete. This path has been added for when we deal with a lot of water lying through the centre of these holes, allowing us to have carts on and getting through the low line area.

Over the next month we will continue general maintenance with focus on planning and rebuilding some tee areas and fairway bare patches.

We thank all the players who participated & Steve, Nigel & Kynan for getting us all away.
