GREENS REPORT FEBRUARY 21

GREENS REPORT FEBRUARY 21

Greens renovations have been completed and the course is looking great!

Renovations were carried out over two days with a 12mm solid tine and a deep scarify followed by a medium top-dress and amendments added.

We were very lucky to avoid the rain during the work there for the renovations went perfectly. Prior to the removal of thatch and aeration we were able to remove most small patches of carpet grass and any foreign weeds. After two weeks of renovations these areas sprayed out on the greens are easily visible, and these areas will be grown over within a short period, giving us a cleaner surface for the future.

Once all of the sand has been washed in there will be a follow up of a very fine top-dress towards the end of the month to complete the renovations.

Once all of the sand has been washed in again, we will start the process of lowering the mowing heights to the greens, with rolling greens 2-3 times a week.

Last month we built and completed two bridges on the 4th and the 18th.

All dams have been sprayed for weeds, tee tops have been sprayed for crow’s-foot, and all bases of trees have been trimmed and herbicide applied.

Over the next 2-3 months we have planned for major repair work for the cart paths throughout the course.

We are trialling a new road base product to the existing paths, and areas that will need concrete will be looked at in the future.

The course is looking great with all areas maintained, fairways fertilised monthly and rough kept to fair height.

The greens are responding very well from renovations for only two weeks out, so I am very confident that we will have a great surface for when we move into the cooler months.
