Nambour Golf Club

The Nambour Golf Club is where you get the feeling you are closer to tropical Cairns than the sub-tropical Sunshine Coast. With the course centered around a valley full of beautiful rainforest pockets, it has Queensland written all over it. To play Nambour is a golfing experience not to be missed. The picturesque Nambour Golf Club is situated just 15 minutes from the beach or the hinterlands. For a Google map link to our course, look under 'Find Us' on the green task bar above.
The course is open 7 days a week, having a stocked Golf Shop with motorised buggies for hire. The clubhouse is also fully licensed with main member competition days being Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Ladies Day on Thursday. Come and enjoy the experience 2 for 1 every Tuesday. Visitors are also welcome to play in our Sunday competition.

R&A has announced that from 1 January 2017 competition committees will be permitted to introduce a local rule that waives a penalty when a ball is accidentally moved on the putting green.

Ducks! Is it the wood ducks who are responsible for the broad leaf grasses in some of our greens? We do not care what/who is responsible, but we do care that something is being done to eradicate it!

I don't need to tell you about the struggle the hot, dry weather has created for our green staff. It is a continual battle to keep the greens alive and flourishing. Every little bit of damage becomes magnified when the greens are under stress.

Therefore, greens staff are grateful when we repair any damage we cause to greens (repair pitch marks, scuff marks from dragging shoes, etc) - thankyou to the diligent ones!

They are also annoyed to find some members/visitors using the course greens as  practice greens and  creating large numbers of pitch marks from practice approach shots. This is especially evident on greens #9 and #16, but some other greens are also affected, even some practice from course bunkers.

Where can I practice then? Click here for the answer!

    Bailey at Australian Open

Promising young NGC Junior, Bailey Murchie, attracted some pretty good golfers when he was at the Australian Open in Sydney recently. Bailey's fame must be spreading as these world class golfers sought him out, hoping he could partner them in the up-coming World Cup!!??

Read on to view Bailey with his new friends, Jordan Speith, Adam Scott and Jamie Sadlowski (he drives the ball 448 yards, almost as far as Bailey!)

But seriously, how exciting would it be to be up so close and personal with these great golfers! No wonder Bailey has such a broad grin on his face.
